Flight Peace.

I was on a flight yesterday coming back from a conference in Florida, and was fortunate enough to be seated next to Lama David Bole of Gainesville, FL.

I must admit I was quite intimidated at first- not sure what to say to him, does he even speak? (don't worry, this question came up later once I had warmed up!) I pulled out my book and did what I always do on a plane- put my face in it. Then...my curiosity got the best of me and I leaned over and told him that I am in the middle of reading "Eat, Pray, Love". He laughed and said "you and every other woman in America" (apparently I am way off base because here is a monk with a sense of humor- pray tell!) Anyway, I then commented on the prayer beads on his wrist (Malas?) and that was the beginning of what I am sure was a very painful flight for this man, as I never shut up or stopped asking him questions from Atlanta to Omaha.

Lama David will be at the Omaha Healing Arts Center the rest of this week and beginning of next and I am hoping to attend his meditation session. He is the most interesting person I've met in a very, very long time and I am honored to have spent time with him and take away a little bit of his wisdom.

Thank you Lama David.
